Rise up

Rise up

“Rise up!” subtly switches meaning between “My Shot” and “Right-Hand Man.” In the first song, Hamilton’s exhorting the colonists to rise against Britain. In “Right-Hand Man” he’s talking about climbing the social ladder with Washington’s patronage. And given that Hamilton’s looking at the other side when he sings it in “The World Was Wide Enough,” it may have another meaning in that song as well. Source
